Food

Food that is eaten regularly includes bread, smoked meat , fish, and milk products.   Proja (a type of cornbread), Musaka (ground beef with potatoes), Sarma (ground beef rolled in cabbage), and Pasulj sa Mesom ( any type of bean with meat).

Prsuta ( Like smoked ham) is served on special occasions; Muslim families, who do not eat pork, eat a version made from beef, called goveđa pršuta. A lot of seafood is eaten along the coast, where Italian and Croatian influences can be identified in the cuisine. Montenegrins enjoy Turkish dishes such as baklava, tulumba, and others, since they arcolse to this country and do a fair amount of trading with them.

 

Traveling Tip:
Make sure to know what foods you can and can't eat before you go anywhere you haven't been before, there could be things that you aren't used to and/or are dangerous to you.
